Who Are We?

The firm ILHAPEIXE - SOCIEDADE DE PEIXE DA ILHA, LDA. with headquarters at Lages, parish of Gaula, municipality of Santa Cruz, fiscal person n.º 511049242, is a company that has as objective the preparation and conservation of fresh and frozen fish.

Work Developed By Us

The confidence set in our work in the projection of the product ILHAPEIXE, is shown by the ship owners of the black sword fish, in the renewal of their fishing fleet. Taking advantage of the European Community aid and that of the Regional Government of Madeira, they have been able to improve working conditions and increase their revenue. We presencing a greater effort by the fishing industry and an improved self reliance of the ship owners which has resulted in bigger and better quality captures of superior fish.

The indirect support of the black sword fish filleting industry led to the Regional Government of Madeira implementing a growing improvement in the land support installations, necessary to answer to the growing investments by the industry, ship owners, fishermen and fishing sector.

At this moment we are working with demanding European markets shuch as the French, Spanish, German, British and the national market. Internationally we are also working with Venezuela and Australia, which have strong ties to Portugal. A vaster market is at the moment not within our possibilities because of the difficulty in obtaining a larger supply of fresh fish.

We are trying to solve the problem with the freighting of the necessary ships that will guarantee an efficient and continuous supply of fresh fish. Seen that our manufacturing unit is working to 50% of its capacity, we have the possibility of increasing the production, having always as main objective the quality of the final product.
