Aquaculture - Madeira's Dourada - Fish of the day, every day

The enterprise "Ilha Peixe" is compromised to satisfy all customers, having now available a new fresh product named "Dourada" (Sparus aurata). It is our target to develop another alternative to fishing importation, in way to assure Madeira consumption, regional origin products. In some way we have initiated in, "Baía D`Abra" Caniçal Sea, the fish culture as a first production cycle of "Dourada" in cages at open sea (aquaculture offshore). The fish production capacity, is able to stand 120 ton divided through small four cages, with 1100m3 capacity each plus a big one of 4500m3. As a result, it has been created all conditions to produce naturally, fresh and nutritive species, with good taste and available all year around, according to all customers demands.
