The ILHAPEIXE - Sociedade de Peixe da Ilha, Lda, was created in 1992 and in 1996 initiated is activity after six months of intense formation of the work force, necessary to functioning of the company.

This manufacturing unit appears in the Madeira market fundamentally to help drain the excess of existing fish in a restricted market such as the Autonomous Region of Madeira, thereby satisfying the international, national, and local markets with products of highly valued regional origin. These products, supplied by the regional and internacional fishers, are then prepared and packed in our installations.

           

We support and guarantee the draining of an unknown product outside of our regional traditional border, transforming raw material into a product os guaranteed quality with superior presentation in the extremely demanding markets, obtaining a final product with unalterable ande singular characteristics as regards the flavour and texture.

We acknowledge the contribution lent by the industry of transformation of the black swordfish in the enlargement of the wealth of the fisherman population, in the traditional Madeiran family and in the projection of the Region of Madeira, with the presentation of a product of a high quality, conquering internacional and European markets.
